Bolder Strategies Celebrates Juneteenth

19 June 2023
Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, commemorates the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom on June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln.

The significance of this day cannot be overstated. Juneteenth marks a turning point in American history and represents the end of one of the darkest periods in our nation's history. It is a reminder of the resilience, strength, and perseverance of African Americans, despite their brutal treatment for hundreds of years.

At Bolder Strategies, we feel it is important to celebrate Juneteenth because it is a time to honor the contributions of African Americans, provide education about their history and culture, and celebrate their achievements. We believe that by recognizing and celebrating Juneteenth, we are taking an important step toward creating a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.

Celebrating Juneteenth allows us to reflect on our shared history, and to acknowledge the ongoing struggle for freedom, justice, and equality. By working together, we can build a future where all people are treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Juneteenth, and to take the time to learn about the many important contributions that African Americans have made throughout history. Whether through community events, educational programs, or personal reflection, let's take time to recognize the significance of Juneteenth, and how it continues to shape our shared history and future.
